Annapurna Sanctuary Trek

This route in annapurna sanctuary to the site of annapurna south face base camp is a spectacular short trek. Although it has some steps climb, the  trek is not difficult. This trek is a fine opportunity to surround you itself by Himalayan peak within a short time, without having to confront with altitude and flight problem. It is advised  to allow two weeks to fully appreciate the high altitude  scenery.  

Trip Highlight

Day 01: Kathmandu to Pokhara
Drive to Pokhara( 200km)  by tourist bus which takes around 6/7 hours and overnight stay at Pokhara.

Day 02: Pokhara to Tikhedhunga{1540}
After a 45km drive from Pokhara via Naudanra,Kanre,and  Lumla villages and the trek commences at Nayapool, from where the trial descends steeply to Birethanti. It then follows the east bank of the bhurungdi khola  to reach Tikhedhunga and stay overnight there.

Day 03: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani{2855m}
The trail ascends to Ulleri village pleasantly through Rhododendron forest and reaches to Ghorepani at the end of the day where we spend overnight at lodge.

Day 04: Ghorepani to Tadapani{2590m}
Early in the morning we trek to Poonhill where one may witness a  truly memorable sunrise. From Poonhill  one can view over 30 white snow-capped peaks, comprising the whole Annapurna range.

Day 05: Tadapani to Chomrong{2170m}
Today, we trek to Tadapani which offers good views of the upper modi valley. The route starts with a long ascent high above the west bank of modi khola. Chomrong village lies at the base of hiunchuli {6441m} where we stay overnight at lodge.

Day 06:  Chomrong to Himalayan hotel{2873m}
The trial continues Khuldi ghar from where the routes ascend before leveling out and running through thickets of bamboo at the bottom of  the gorge. Keeping always  on the west side of the river, the pasture of  Tomoe is passed. at the very  neck of the gorge at panchen barah there is small trail and a shrine. The trial then climbs to the  Himalayan Hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 07: Himalaya hotel to Machhapuchhre Base Camp{MBC}{3700m}
From the Himalayan Hotel, it is about an hour’s walk, initially on a rocky trail through forests, then up a steep ravine to Hinko at 2960m. The trail crosses a ravine and a major avalanche track just beyond Hinko, after which it climbs through large boulders. Approximately half an hour beyond hinko is Deurali at 3000m. Here as the trail  continues into the sanctuary, it crosses two wide avalanche tracks via a narrow trial that huddles up against the cliffs. The trail then descends to meet the Modi khola  and follows  the river to Bager we climb across more as machharpchhre  base camp{MBC} at an elevation of 3480m overnight stay here.One can have panoramic views of hiunchuli,Annapurna 1, Annapurna III,  and Ggangapurna and Machhapuchhre.

Day 08: MBC  to ABC  and back to MBC
Today, we visit to Annapurna Base Camp which takes around 3 hours up. After that we will return back to MBC from the same route and stay overnight there.

Day 09: MBC  to Bamboo
Descend via the same route to the Himalayan hotel and Dovan.

Day 10: Bamboo to Chomrong
Follow the same trial to Chomrong for overnight stay.

Day 11: Chomrong to Ghandruk
Follow the route back at Taglung, at the junction of the trail from  Landrung and New Bridge. We stay on the wide main trail, walking west above the potato  and Wheat fields of Taglung before descending gently through forests. The trail then drops steeply on switchbacks to Kimrong village ,situated above the Khumnu Khola at 1720m. After crossing the suspension bridge at Khumnu Khola or Kimrong villege. The trail makes a steep climb to teahouse at Uri situated on a pass at 2200m, then descends gently to Ghandruk village{1940m}. for an overnight stay.

Day 12: Ghandruk to Tolkha
Descend through the paved courtyards of Ghandruk village past  teahouse. After crossing the stream on a suspension bridge the trail emerges into the Modi Khola  valley and reaches Tolkha,a small settlements at 1710m where we spend a night at lodge.

Day 13: Tolkha to Dhampus
The trail descends a forested path paved with stones and continue its descent  past several teahouse at Bheri Kharha to the head of the canyon and the ridge at Dhampus at 1510m. Many hotel are there for staying.

Day 14:  Dhampus to Pokhara
Continue a few hundred metres along a trail to the road that descends  to a taxi stand. Take a taxi or other transportation and back to Pokhara.

Day 15: Pokhara to Kathmandu
Today, we return back to Kathmandu by tourist bus.

Day 16: At Kathmandu
You have whole day free today for shopping and packing for your final departure.

Day 17: Final departure
We will drop you today to the airport for your final departure.

 

 

What is Included in the Cost

    Arrival and departure transportation, Kathmandu/Pokhara/Kathmandu by tourist bus, Pokhara/Nayapul and Fedi /Pokhara transportation by private vehicle, 3 nights hotel accommodation in Kathmandu, 2 nights  hotel in Pokhara, in trekking food ( breakfast, lunch and dinner ) with accommodation , trekking permits, TIMS , guide, porters, their food, salary and insurance.

What is Excluded in the Cost

    Personal insurance, rescue flight, personal expenses such as bar bill, tips,, any loss arising due to unforeseen circumstances such as accidents, road blockage due to landslides or strike.
